Don’t you just love a good life hack? From IKEA furniture to hairstyling, I am all for anything that is going to make my life easier. Yeeesss, HACK MY LIFE!!
With that being said, I hosted one of our paint parties this Sunday and my client chose to add on our Mini Party Favors upgrade to her package. Please note our Mini Party Favors are not “custom favors,” but she did inform me that the cake she ordered would be Hello Kitty themed. So I thought why not go ahead and jazz up our standard favors a bit while being sure to keep within the mini favors “mini” budget!
So, I threw around the idea of pulling out my Cricut, scrolling through countless pages of Etsy printables, and even drawing the design by hand myself…and then decided to make these “lazy favors” using super affordable items I picked up at Party City instead! 😂
Don’t judge me! 😒
Now, what’s a lazy favor you’re asking? Well we’ll get into that in just a bit.
First, I want to take you guys through the contents of the actual favors. I thought they were so cute, yet extremely extremely affordable!
First, I spotted these adorable Hello Kitty Lip Gloss Swirls when strolling the (overly air conditioned) aisles of my local Party City. They were just $7.99 for a pack of 12! I also picked up these Hello Kitty Tattoo Sheets for just $1 each. I merely cut the sheet up into individual squares and then placed one each box.
As I mentioned earlier this was a “paint party” so I was so excited to find this next favor, as it was the only paint themed item in all of Party City! Now, although these Paint Party Favor Sets were probably not going to get any use…(By the way I hate including favors that guests just throw away, seems like such a waste of money to me)…I thought they added a splash of whimsicality and would be a cute reminder of the girl’s painting experience.
Lastly, I scooped up these rainbow hair ties packs. They were $1 each, but I loved them because I felt like they mimicked the rainbow and complemented the rainbow paint sets to tie it all back together into a “paint party” theme.
So, what is a lazy favor you ask again? Well, it’s basically a “Party Favor Hack.” You just buy one pre-made item and use it to decorate another! I had no time to pull out my Cricut, nor mock up any designs, nor wait for custom printables to be returned. So, I found these Hello Kitty Party Favor Hats and decided to cut them into pieces and re-glue them to a crisp white gable box. Sweet and simple, just like that!
I filled each box with lavender paper shred to match her party color selection and we were good to go!
Inside the gable boxes I packed everything just so and sealed them all up!
At the party I placed them beside each of the girl’s paint place settings and it was the first thing they all grabbed for on the table when they arrived!
To keep them from getting splattered with “creativeness” we moved them onto my client’s snack table, right beside this beautiful little Hello Kitty cake you’ll see below!
The birthday girl added her own personal birthday candle touches once it was time to sing and the guests enjoyed every bit of this pretty pink cake!
