Last weekend I was able to host one of our signature spa parties for a lovely little girl! Her mother was just a joy to work with and opted for our signature “Kate Spade theme,” still the most popular with all the moms by the way!
Although we offer standardized packages for parents to choose from, I always like to switch up the party decor a bit for each party. This particular Saturday we went with a black base linen and over-layed a lovely striped runner, courtesy of Oriental Trading! These runners blew me away when I opened them up, as I wasn’t expecting such amazing quality! They were definitely the highlight of the tablescape and they’re reusable, so they’ve now become a staple in my collection of decor.
Next, for our centerpiece we placed one of our widely used metal mannequin stands (sometimes we’ll even jazz her up a bit with a hand-made tutu) that I spray painted a faint pink (originally it was black) to add a whimsy french-y feminine vibe and some much needed height!
On the table we have our essentials, our signature Facial Kits, especially prepared for each guests “Fruity Facial” service! As well as the much needed cool cucumbers used to soothe eyes that probably didn’t get any sleep at the slumber party the night before. To bring the elements on the table together are some faux candles and flowers.
When I first started doing spa parties I used to use real candles, then I realized it was definitely not a bright idea! (Get it.) The girls can sometimes get a bit excited and hot wax on little hands is the fastest way to bad Yelp reviews! As for the flowers they would just always go to waste, as our party lasts a whopping 2.5 hours…in that short amount of time they’d end up in the trash, in girls hair, or smashed up in the clients carpets. (No bueno!)
For each party we offer a “Pink Lemonade Toast” where each guest goes around and says something nice about the birthday girl, then they clink their glasses together. We usually bring milk bottle glasses filled with pink lemonade, but I thought it a bit easier to start bringing pre-packaged beverages, like these super yummy Martinelli Sparking Cider bottles. Unfortunately, they were meant to be sprayed in gold and covered in glitter, but I ran out of time to add that special touch! (Doesn’t that just make you so mad.) Well just remember if you didn’t tell anyone they would be covered in glitter, they’ll never know they’re missing it! As expected, the girls enjoyed sipping their “faux cocktails” just the same!
Lastly, we provided individual pretty pink mirrors along with a foundation brush for each guest to complete their activity! We had to squeeze two extra guests to this table at the last minute, so there was no room for their pretty placements, which usually helps fill the table and tie everything back together.
The space was tighter than expected as we had originally planned to set-up in the backyard, when the wind picked up. So, just to the left (in the picture above) you’ll see the glittering “Manicure Station” and the craft table in black sporting our Cool Aqua Mister. On the bottom right you’ll see a hint of our “Lounge Station” complete with back massage pads and trendy age-appropriate magazines for the girls to relax. Lastly, on the right corner you’ll notice our lovely fuschia pink spa robes. The girls just absolutely adore them! We also offer other colors like teal, lavender, and light pink for moms who want to customize their package a bit more.
To top it all of we have our backdrop stand complete with our “Spa Party Photo Props” where girls posed for a fancy little photo shoot! I wish I could show you all their beautiful little faces, but their mom opted out of using guest photos, so I must abide by client privacy! Don’t worry though, I have loads of pictures from past parties, so you’ll be able to see some sweet smiling faces soon!
Until next time,
