I was going over some party photos today and came across this gore-geous Monster High Spa Party we hosted a couple years ago! Now, I’m not sure if this kids TV show is still a hit like it once was…but I still absolutely love the color scheme for it. Any of these ideas could easily be used to inspire this year’s Halloween party or upcoming birthday bash, so lets go over some details!
As you can see we decided to go with a Teal, Fuschia Pink, Black, and White color scheme. I added in some silver pieces to add texture and a striped pattern to give it that extra oomph! I started with a fuschia table linen for the base and added a teal runner to contrast. On top of that I layered these purr-fect striped placements that I swooped from IKEA for only $1.49!
The scalloped charger plates I picked up from the 99 Cent Store and the 4 pack of pink plastic plates that I placed on top were from the Dollar Tree! These beautiful handheld mirrors looked super cool and vamp-y with this theme, but would also double beautifully for princess parties of any kind!
These pink capped milk bottles were purchased from the Target Dollar Spot, along with the faux candles! Luckily for me, they matched perfectly with the plates and the candles; so I just topped them off with a black and white striped paper straw. Toads adorable!
For the beauty services, the client chose full glam makeovers complete with: manicures, glitter tattoos, make-up application, and hair designs! We always try to keep the make-up light and age appropriate, as I am personally not a huge fan of make-up on young girls. So, we let the girls pick their eye shadow color and added a little glitter gel to make those little eyes sparkle, plus just a hint of lip gloss!
For their hair we created an array of braided designs and finished it off with temporary hair color to make the braids pop! Lastly, the girls chose a variety of hearts, cats, flowers, and guitars for their glitter tattoo service.
Once the glam-overs were complete, we adorned each girl with a black tutu that I literally almost stole from the 99 Cent Store after Halloween. They only cost…wait for it……… 12 for $1.00! Yaass, they were practically free! Originally the skirts were made for a witches costume, so they added an especially de-frightful feel! In the end, a Monster High bed sheet served as the perfect backdrop for the girls photo shoot!
Well, these beasties ended up having an amazing time! The girls also crafted their own take-home tote bag and rocked out to Disney songs in between their beauty services.
