Thinking of throwing a Halloween party this year? Or what are they calling it these days, a Boo Bash!
Well, here’s a quick and easy Treat Station your guests are sure to love!
Oriental Trading sent me over some “super sweet” goodies to play around with this year. So, keeping on with this holiday’s theme “Have a Super Halloween;” I came up with this really cool beverage/treat station that your kids will go absolutely crazy for! (Seriously I couldn’t keep my son’s hands off of it…or my father-in-laws. Read on for a hilarious tale of how this treat station almost wasn’t.)

I placed various sized black spiders and bats around the table to bring in that creepy crawly Halloween vibe!
I poured two different color juices into this awesome dual drink dispenser that I actually picked up for free from my neighbor who was throwing it away! Can you say STEAL! It was practically brand new, but she was clearing out her garage and decided she never uses it anymore and wanted to get rid of it. What I loved most was the base of the dispenser, I swear it had like a Batman vibe to it. Right?
I used this spool of Superhero stickers absolutely everywhere! I stuck them to glass bottles to give it a more customized look. I taped them to toothpicks to make super inexpensive cupcake toppers, stuck them to generic drink cups, and cut out a couple rounds just to use as confetti on the table. They looked great and matched perfectly with the eyeball scatter I picked up from the Dollar Tree for only $1.00!
Along with using the eyeballs as confetti, I took the liberty of hot gluing them to everything that I possibly could. I started with gluing them to plain dollar store cups to add a little pizzazz and then set my sites on the yellow plasticware. I glued eyes down the handles to bring in some customization and add that whimsical touch!
This cake was super inexpensive! It was about $3.00 at the supermarket. I placed it on a red paper plate and jazzed it up with these bat cutouts and set it on a spider web cake plate. Can you believe both were only $1.00 from the 99 cent store?!
This life-sized cardboard guy is too cool. We took pictures of the boys poking their heads out of the back, I’m definitely going to find a way to use this again after Halloween. It was great quality and the print was super bright!
So, let me start with the backstory!
During the construction of this darling treat station, I was extremely under the weather. I was weak, I was coughing, sore throat, the works! However, I knew I had a deadline to keep and that I wanted to get this post up for you guys by a certain day. So I mustered up all my strength, I took my time putting all the decor up just so; blowing up balloons (with a stuffy nose and a sore throat), hanging tissue paper fans and coordinating linens to make the perfect Halloween set-up to show you all. Once that was complete, I thought I should shoot my boys first, as they were bouncing off the walls in their costumes and I wanted to get good shots of them before they messed them up! So, I proceeded with their photo shoot first, but by the time I was done I was pooped! I felt like I was going to pass out, so I chalked it up and vowed to shoot the next day. Well, the next day came and luck would have it that I couldn’t even get out of bed. So, I thought one more day won’t hurt and again I vowed to shoot the following morning in hopes that I’d feel a little better.
(Stay with me, we’re almost to the good part.)
Well, I went to sleep early that evening before hubs and when he finally came to bed, he whispered to me hesitantly and with remorse “Umm…I got bad news. My dad slipped and fell into your set-up.” Half asleep and sick as a dog, I rolled over and said “of course he did,” and fell back asleep. (Thinking back that was a little harsh, right? Not even a, is he okay?…Don’t judge me, I was sick!…Does it make it better that this is not the first time this has happened lol. No? Okay on with the story.) So, I go in the next morning to find my perfectly placed set-up trashed. My cardboard cupcake tower was toppled over, popcorn was strewn across the table, red juice splashed around the floor. My cardboard man was bent up, hubs said he heard a loud sound and had found him hanging on to the wall and Mr. Cardboard in the corner. Bottles were topped over, food props broken in half, and tissue paper fans crinkled on the ground. Yes, can you believe it! Well, frustrated and recovering I cleaned it all up and put it back together. During the clean-up I conducted my investigation. The question was, how and why was he over here anyways? How could he have fallen into this corner so far out of the way where anyone would be walking. The floor wasn’t wet and there was nothing to slip on. Well, my mother-in-law deducted he must have been startled by the cardboard man and was trying to fight him off! We all had a good laugh about that theory. Next, she said when she walked in that he looked very guilty, like a child who had been caught doing something wrong. We all sat around laughing for a bit, when it came to me! He fell not because he was startled, but because he was trying to get some juice!! He loves a good cup of juice. It must have looked so tasty and refreshing that he went to grab a cup (a display cup might I add!) from the top, yes the top of the tower to sneak a little drink. He must’ve placed his hand on the table, which was wobbly because the white tabletop is just a top balancing on the real table beneath it and lost his balance! All for the love of juice! Juice that could have easily been found a few steps in the opposite direction in the fridge. lol
He was the juice bandit, caught in the act! He was perfectly fine I want to add, he didn’t even fall, hubs grabbed him whilst he was clinging to the backdrop… but we all had a good laugh about it in the end. Moral of the story, don’t leave out any tasty deliciousness on display with family around, unless your set-ups are sturdy and you intend to share!! Well, that’s my #HilariousTale, hope I could make you guys smile! 🙂
